On July 20 Hong Kong honored favorite son and kung fu legend Bruce Lee on the 40th anniversary of his death with the opening of the “Bruce Lee: Kung Fu, Art, Life,” exhibition at Hong Kong’s Heritage Museum.
The exhibition showcases over 600 items from collection around the world, mostly on loan from the Bruce Lee Foundation, which is run by his daughter Shannon Lee. Among the exhibits are his famous yellow track suit from the movie “Game of Death,” and props like the deadly nunchks associated with the iconic star.
Wong Yiu-Keung, founder of the Bruce Lee Club, thinks it is about time Hong Kong honoured Lee’s contribution to the city. The Club is organising an historic walk called “Bruce Lee Way” where visitors can visit Bruce Lee’s schoo, the place where he filmed, and places he visited. They intend to erect plaques describing these places.
