Kansas City, Missouri has taken a new stance against school bullies. In a 4-0 vote the City Council approved a new anti-bully measure. Parents of bullies will have to either take a bully prevention training course or pay up to $1,000 fine.
As statistics show that 42% of all children get bullied online, the new measure includes cyber-bullying as well. According to the AMA 3.2 million children get moderately to severly bullied.
6th district Councilman Scott Taylor said, “We’ve done this in a responsible way. There’s no additional resources on the school district required.”
