Pulitzer prize winner composer David del Tradici composed his new song, “Bullycide,” which premiered at San Diego’s Museum of Contemporary Art Saturday August 16 in the Sherwood Auditorium.
A composer-in-residence of the New York Philharmonic, Mr. del Tradici wrote the song in resonse to the prolific suicides of gay teens. He modeled the music after Schubert’s “Trout” quintet.
David del Tradici says he wrote “Bullycide,” as his mission “to create a body of musical compositions that unambiguously celebrate the gay experience — happy, sad, horrible, or bizarre.”
