On November 7, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will stand up among 12 finalist toys for judging for induction into The National Toy Hall of Fame located in The Strong Museum of Rochester, New York. The judging by the national selectino committee comprised of curators, educators and historians will announce their decisions at the induction ceremony.
The national selection committee judging from 12 nominees each year look for toys that embody the qualities of longevity, innovation, fosters learning, creativity or discovery through play, and endure in popularity over generations.
The other nominees for the class of 2013 include Clue, Fisher Price Little People, little green Army men, the Magic 8 Ball, My Little Pony, Nerf toys, the Pac-Man video game, the scooter and the rubber duck.
Classic toys already in the Hall of Fame include Barbie, dominoes, the hula hoop, Lionel trains, Star Wars action figures, Play Doh, Slinky, the stick and cardboard box.
