CBR caught up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle producers Peter Hastings and Ciro Nieli as well as stars Kevin Michael Richardson and Sean Astin to learn more about the upcoming Season 2.
Hastings and Nieli work hard to embrace the original series. Every time they introduce a new character they go back to the orginal comics, the first 12 issues. The new TMNT team works hard at capturing the spirit of the original series and slowly develops the mythology. “
“The biggest thing for us was to make a big, huge, fun finale where all those elements came together,” says Hastings.
Sean Astin (the voice of “Raphael”) feels like an old pro now that he has Season 1 under his belt. He enjoyed welcoming the new kid on the block Josh Peck who will be the voice of Casey Jones in Season 2.
Shredder has a darker edge but he held back on his character in Season 1. Fans will see more development of Shredder in Season 2.
