Joe Lewis says the victor of any sport is the one who makes the least amount of mistakes. Therefore, he has comprised a list of common errors to avoid when training in kickboxing.

The first six are as follows:

  1. Try to counter when you should lead the attack
  2. Failing to step when you punch
  3. Rushing your closing kick following a punching combination
  4. Standing square in front of an opponent or in a pocket
  5. Failing to possess effective feinting or faking skills
